Located in the Prefecture of Miyagi, Sendai Yagiyama Zoological Park offers to its visitors a collection of 600 animals of 140 species. They opened their doors to the public on October 15th 1965. Between their collection, it can be highlighted red pandas, bactrian camels, japan monkey, marlows or sumatran tigers. Yagiyama Zoo imported on its history only a couple of gorillas called Don and Lola. They arrived at the age of two years old in March 1971 from Africa. Lola, the female, never got pregnant from Don and she died in 2007 at an old age.
